This stone has an appearance of a pale transparent baby blue pyramidal crystal as medium to large cluster or geode, or platelike piece. Can come in a blue color, but also a yellow, red and at times white. I most often sourced from Britain, Egypt, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Libya, Madagascar. This stone can usually be easily found within the US, but prices may be rather expensive.
The subtle baby blue hue of this stone is actually where Celestite has gotten its name. The Celestite name comes from the Greek word "heavenly". This was originally discovered in1791 and was originally named "Fasriger Schwerspath". Only until 1797, when it was renamed "Schwefelsaurer Strontianite Aus Pennsylvania", I don't know about you, but whoever signed off on that name needs to go right to JAIL. It wasn't until the following year that it was shorted, thank the Lord, to "Zoelestine", which is the German spelling of a Greek word meaning "of the sky”. In most recent years, it came to settle into the name Celestine, which later became the now popularized, Celestite. Some believe this crystal to be a Pleiadian gift from the star group of the Pleiades.
