Cold & Flu Tea Bomb with Lemon

As the weather changes and cold/flu season makes its appearance, I wanted to pass a long a favorite recipe that was shared with me years ago. Not only is it an amazing boost to the immune system at the first sign of a cold, it tastes great and this recipe allows you to have it stored and ready to go at a moment's notice.

Cold / Flu Tea Bombs Recipe:

~2 Organic Lemons (peeled and cut into small pieces)

~2 Bunches of Ginger (peeled and chopped into smaller pieces)

~1 Head of Garlic (peeled)

~1 Tablespoon of Ceylon Cinnamon

~2 Tablespoons of Ground Turmeric

~1 Tablespoon of Black Pepper

~1/2 Tablespoon of Cayenne Pepper

**You can decrease or increase this amount...I personally use a little bit more and purposefully decreased the amount in this recipe so it wouldn't be too "spicy" . For those who would prefer the extra "kick" you can add up to 1 1/2 Tablespoons**

~1/2 Teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar

~1 1/2 Tablespoons of Honey

~3 Cups of Water

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Strain your mixture. I recommend using a cheese cloth for straining.

Next your will need either a silicone mold muffin tray or ice cube trays will work too. You want to add about 2 Tablespoons of your blended liquid into your tray.

Freeze until completely solid. On average this can take about 4-6 hours, but personally I just let it freeze overnight.

Next pop your individual cold/flu bombs out of the tray and store in a freezer safe container.

When stored properly these will be good for up to 3 months.

When you're ready to use, drop one cold/flu bomb into a cup of hot water. Add some extra honey or lemon slices, if that's your cup of tea, and enjoy!
