Honey Bomb: The Natural Healer

Looking for natural ways to start healing your body? The “Honey Bomb” is an easy and simple way to boost your immune system and ease inflammation in the body. It has 6 simple ingredients, with a base of raw organic honey and contains a trio of powerful herbs: turmeric, ginger and cinnamon that benefit the body in so many ways.

Turmeric is a “powerhouse” herb, and it can help inflammation and joint pain as well as boost the immune system. It supports the digestive system, respiratory tract, skin, joints, as well as, the liver, and kidneys. Turmeric is packed with antioxidants and also helps regulate blood sugar. Curcumin is the main curcuminoid in turmeric. Curcuminoids are what contain the medicinal properties in this herb. Black pepper is a vital component to make sure you add any time you are incorporating turmeric, as it contains piperine which boosts the bioavailability of the curcumin in turmeric. In layman’s terms, this means it helps increase the absorption of turmeric in the body.

Cinnamon is another herb that is packed with protective antioxidant properties. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It can aid in lowering blood pressure, it helps regulate blood sugar, restores balance of bacteria to the gut and aids in digestive health, assists in lowering cholesterol levels, and supports brain health and cognitive functions.

When choosing your cinnamon, it's important to remember that they are NOT all the same. There are 4 types of cinnamon: Ceylon, Cassia, Saigon and Korintje. I recommend Ceylon Cinnamon, as it is known as “true cinnamon” and it is not hard on the liver as some of the other ones listed.

Ginger is an antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal herb that contains gingerol, a compound packed with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger supports the digestive system, relieves nausea and constipation, eases menstrual cramps, boosts metabolism, controls insulin levels, and is wonderful for sore throats.

Honey is known for its amazing anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and wound healing properties. It’s great for easing coughs, sore throats, and aids in digestion. The antioxidants in honey are known to help with inflammation in the body as well.

All these ingredients should be easy to find at your local grocery store or spice shop!

Add in each of the additional ingredients and mix thoroughly.

You can simply take a spoonful daily, mix it in hot water to create a simple “tea” or substitute as a sweetener in your coffee.
