The Merkaba (Merkabah) is an ancient sacred symbol that was originally described in old world biblical texts. Some of these texts are from the prophet Ezekiel in what is known as the Books of Enoch and is mentioned several other times in The Old Testament scriptures. The word Merkaba is broken up into 3 base words: Mer = Light, Ka = Spirit, Ba = Body. When they are placed together to form this term, it is the idea of spirit and body being connected and surrounded by light. This star shape is directly understood as being a "Chariot" of sorts that leads the transition of Mind and Spirit into the higher realms/dimensions.
It is said that the symbol itself is entirely composed of two-star tetrahedrons. Which actually consists of counter-rotating fields of light and energy that is said to entirely surround each individual person, though only some can perceive this field. This energy extends beyond the body. Some even believe that even planets can have this Merkaba energy field surrounding them as well. Egyptians are said to have believed that the Merkaba is a rotating light that carries the human body and spirit from one plane to another.
This known energy field is said to be used heavily by healers and has in modern times become a strong symbol of enlightenment and connection to divine Source Energy. The Merkaba's meaning is eternal oneness and light. Some even believe that this sacred symbol can transcend into different dimensions and realities.
