This week's mini read is a past, present and future spread using the Shaman of Dream's Oracle. The first card out in our three card spread is the "Unmarked Trail-Revelation" and in this position it marks our immediate past. Stop looking for old solutions to solve new problems. This card represents a subconscious choice that has been made. You've had what could've been a painful realization or "gut punch" moment recently and deep down you know you need to move forward and no more looking in the "rearview mirror" in your life. The path in front of you may seem a bit dark as you venture into the unknown but this is a much needed step forward. You may feel like your choices are limited at this time, but the truth is you have so many options in front of you once you take that first courageous step forward and empower yourself to move out of the perceived confusion your revelation brought with it.
As you have moved past this perceived confusion, the "Feast of Plenty-Choices" and "Consequences Card" is in the present position in our spread and when I look at this card I immediately hear "The Sword in the Stone" and if you look carefully at the artwork you see the crystal with two swords, one on the left and one on the right. Those swords represent the power of choice in our lives, but also remind us that the sword itself symbolizes justice and the consequences (good or bad) that comes with the power to choose. I'm not surprised that this card is in the present position with the recent retrograde of Saturn, which began on 6/17/2023 and will continue until 11/4/2023 when it goes direct again. Saturn is known as the lord of karma, justice, authority, discipline, and structure. Retrograde motion during this time will be a time when "karma" is sorted out. It will specifically relate to how responsible you have been with your energy and choices in the past up to now. I'm not one for labels so let's break "karma" down really quick. Karma is often referred to as "The Great Law" and, as such the concept that you reap what you sow. Whatever thoughts, words, actions, etc...you put out will be exactly what you get back. Karma plain and simple is the action we choose to take. Our energy is our currency here and is directly related to the Universal Law of Cause and Effect, or like our card here depicts "Choices and Consequences''. Now is the time to really take a look at ourselves, recognize old patterns and admit the part we played by taking responsibility for our energy and all the ways in which we chose to manifest it, (thoughts, feelings, actions, words, etc...) "into action" in the world. We have limitless choices every single moment of every single day and the power lies within us whether to utilize our power or to stand still, because no choice is a choice within itself.
The final card in our spread, which sits in the future position is the "Horseman-The Herald of Change". The Horseman is a spiritual sign of judgment and is also here to tell us that change is coming whether we like it or not. Often people hear the term horseman and think of the "4 horsemen of the apocalypse". The definition of apocalypse is a revelation or the revealing of divine truth and comes from the Greek word, Apokalypsis, which means "the lifting of the veil." The horseman is getting ready to charge ahead. He understands his mission, his purpose now, and embraces all that is to come. He truly represents the point of action here in our spread.
We started our journey with the "Unmarked Trail-Revelation" card and brought it full circle as we've come to realize, we are the judge and jury in our own lives, bringing judgement and balance as we truly see the "cause and effect" (or consequences) our choices carry. The true power of choice lies within each of us and determines the next direction we will take. In coming full circle, you are now understanding that bringing your truth to the world, may bring you down what can be perceived as dark roads, at times, but when you embrace the authentic flame of who you are and allow your divine connection to Spirit to be your compass, you will be guided at all times.
