With all the talk about Pluto moving into Aquarius on January 20th, 2024, what better time to learn about what this celestial body. What it represents and how the energy of this transit can be harnessed for our highest good. Pluto is known as the celestial body of transformation, destruction, and rebirth. It is linked directly with our subconscious and reminds us of the power that lies in our shadow.
Pluto stays in each sign of the zodiac for an average of 15-20 years and completes its transit through the entire zodiac about every 250 years. Pluto entered Capricorn back on January 27, 2008. On a collective level this brought change and transformation to power structures and dynamics which I think we can all agree we have seen play out in various societal constructs over the past 15 years.
Pluto tends to come in like a “wrecking ball” at times and takes things out, sometimes all the way to the foundation, so that we have the opportunity to “rebuild” as things no longer serve us as they once did. I know in our space here, there have been recurring messages for the past several months calling on the collective to “return to roots”, to reflect on their foundations and what they are truly rooted in.
As Pluto now makes its transit into Aquarius, humanity, the collective as a whole is being called to descend into their own shadows or their own personal “underworld”, to start looking at things from new perspectives, to really get to the root of our patterns, issues, insecurities, etc… and break them down once and for all and make room for the new. This is a time to look at what some refer to as “generational trauma” or patterns that appear in your family lineage. Pluto, being an energy of rebirth, allows for you to regain that grip on the reins in your life, to decide “these patterns end with me”. While allowing for you to embody that phoenix energy as you “burn down” and clear things you’ve been holding deep inside, before re-emerging and carving anew path for not only yourself, but for those who will follow behind you.
This is a time of intense metamorphosis and this energy that is moving in brings with it opportunity and growth as this energy is a catalyst for change, like it or not. We are being called to stop treating perceived “failures” as obstacles and switch our lens to focus on the lesson that is being presented. The energy of Pluto evokes courage, bravery, and strength. When it is harnessed and not feared, it has the power to transform our lives in ways we cannot even begin to fathom. This is a time of revolution as well as evolution as the collective reclaims its power.
As we like to say around here, planetary alignments or astrological placement are never an “excuse” for bad behavior of any kind. For those wanting a deeper look into how this transit may affect you on an individual level, check your individual birth chart and placements. Please see the links below
